KIDS WORKSHOPS

CLOWNING FOR KIDS WORKSHOP

Whether for your school or community theater youth cast, clowning is a great way to build play, complicité, and vulnerability & resilience.

We play games to remind us of our ridiculousness and to teach us to simply be present and connect with each other and the pooblic (audience).

PHYSICAL COMEDY & MASK-MAKING WORKSHOP

Using masks and specific postures and gestures, we explore the three archetypes from Commedia del’Arte: the masters, the servants, and the lovers.

Each participant gets to decorate their own mask!

*All supplies provided.

WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS

THEATRICAL CLOWN

We are all clowns.

Theatrical Clown is an exploration of our humanity and an exercise in vulnerability and resilience. In this workshop, we will use le jeu (games/play) to rediscover pleasure, accept our own ridiculousness, disrupt our stimulus-response patterns to allow the Clown to emerge, and build complicité with ourselves, other clowns, and the pooblic.

We learn to solve dilemmas using “clown logic” which also equips us to be more fully present storytellers, creators, and humans.

CORPORATE CLOWN

If you’re looking to build a resilient team, boost creative problem-solving, and create a more cohesive company, clowning can help!

In this workshop, we focus on 3 tenets of clown-work:

  • Being an Expert & Knowing Nothing: getting comfortable not knowing (vulnerability) & finding our expertise (resilience)

  • Clown Logic: dilemmas help us learn how to creatively solve problems

  • Complicité: looking to one another in order to work together better
